What is a sneaker washing bag?

Can I put my sneakers in a washing machine?
Only if the sneaker manufacturer’s care instructions allow machine washing. The washing bag helps contain and cushion suitable sneakers during the wash, but it does not override shoe-specific material, adhesive or care restrictions.
How does the bag help protect sneakers in the wash?
